Durham County Council Healthy Setting Badge
We are proud to inform our parents that we have gained our Healthy Setting Badge from Durham County Council. To enable Tots 'R' Us Nursery to achieve this badge, Toni completed Henry Healthy Start Brighter Future training and worked with our children, discussing healthy foods and foods that are not. Toni also created a leaflet for our staff and parents showing healthy options for snacks and packed lunches.
Durham County Council Physical Activity Badge
We are proud to announce that Tots ‘R’ Us Nursery has successfully gained our Physical Activity Badge from Durham County Council. To enable us to achieve this badge, Toni completed their Ready Set Go Physical Programme, which was led by a qualified coach from Durham County Council. This training has given Toni the knowledge and experience to plan and deliver high quality safe physical activities to our children every day in Nursery, developing their fine and gross motor skills and confidence.
Durham County Council Oral Health Activity Badge
We are proud to inform our parents that we have gained our Oral Health Activity Badge from Durham County Council. To enable Tots 'R' Us Nursery to achieve this badge, Toni completed Henry Healthy Start Brighter Future training and we sourced a dentist for all our children who didn't have one. We also provide all our new children with a dental pack which incudes toothbrush, toothpaste and a information leaflet.

Welcome to Tots 'R' Us Nursery
We are an OUTSTANDING provider of Early Years Education.
At Tots 'R' Us Nursery we believe your child's early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure; one that supports their healthy development, care and learning needs.
"Children are extremely confident and very settled in the warm and welcoming nursery. They have an animated and positive approach to learning while enjoying a calm and appropriately structured routine."

Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (the time in your child's life between birth and five years) learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outdoors.
"Children develop a great love of books and an understanding of how to use them, to find out new things. This also supports the strong focus on developing children's communication and language skills."

Our Nursery is for children who are aged from two years up to school age. We help lay the foundations for healthy development and future learning. We provide a physically active learning environment with a wide range of activities to engage your child in learning while playing and having fun.
"Children's behaviour is exceptional. Staff are positive role models, who offer plenty of praise. They help children to recognise and understand their own emotions and those of others."

Children are encouraged through our activities to use all of their senses to explore their environment, whilst developing their social skills and building relationships with others. We actively promote self-confidence, self-esteem, independence and speech and language development.
"Partnership work with parents and carers is highly effective. Parents value the wonderful care and support they receive. They feel fully informed about their child's learning, through daily contact, social media and half-termly meetings. "
